I saw a solar farm get built in my town over the last three years

They started clearing the land on the old Johnson farm back in 2021, and I'd drive past it on my route. It was just a big field of dirt for a while, then these huge panels started going up. Last week, I saw the sign go up saying it's now powering about 500 homes. It's kind of cool to see something like that actually happen, you know? Has anyone else had a big green energy project pop up near them?

Powering 500 homes" is a bit low for a whole solar farm.

@the_elizabeth I read the other day that even a small natural gas plant can push out way more power per acre than solar. Makes you wonder if the space is even worth it.

Maybe @the_morgan just expects too much from a patch of panels.
