Vent: the stretch of Detroit Ave near W. 65th looks nothing like it did in 2015
Drove past there last week and I swear half the storefronts I knew are gone, the old hardware place is a coffee shop now and the pizza spot that was there for like 20 years is boarded up. Back around 2015 you could park easy on a Saturday and now it's all those tall skinny apartment buildings where the little lots used to be. I get why, rent and land got pricey and everyone wants to be near Gordon Square, but it feels like it happened in a blink. Does anyone know if the old Polish bakery on that block is still open somewhere or did they close for good?
