Used to haul groceries from Dave's Market in plastic bags that ripped every time, now I bring my own canvas totes
I must have snapped at least 8 bags walking home on Detroit Ave last summer before I finally bought a set of those $5 canvas totes from the hardware store. Now I can fit a whole week of produce without worrying about eggs smashing on the sidewalk. Anyone else make that switch or still rolling the dice with the flimsy plastic?

I started with those canvas totes too, but after my third one got a hole from carrying a jar of pickles (the jar survived but the bag didn't), I upgraded to a beat-up old army duffle I found at a garage sale for two bucks. That thing has hauled 40 pounds of potatoes, a case of soda, and even a small watermelon without breaking a sweat. Now I keep it in my trunk year-round, and honestly, it's saved me from at least a dozen embarrassing sidewalk egg explosions. If you really want to level up, grab a milk crate from behind the store (they usually toss them) and strap it to a folding cart, then you can roll your groceries up Detroit Ave like a king.

My milk crate on a dolly has been my go-to for six years now.
