The guy who yelled at me for parallel parking on West 25th changed my whole view on street parking debates
I was trying to squeeze into a spot near Great Lakes Brewing last Saturday, and this older dude in a Buick rolled down his window and told me I was parking too far from the curb by at least 8 inches. He claimed he used to deliver furniture on this street in the 90s and said no one respects the 6-inch rule anymore, which is apparently in the Ohio driver's manual. On one hand, I get that tight parking keeps traffic flowing on narrow streets like Detroit or Lorain. But on the other hand, I've seen bumpers get mangled when people try to jam in too close, and I'd rather leave a little gap than risk a repair bill of $400. So which side do you fall on for west side parking, are we team "hug the curb" or team "leave a buffer"?
