The guy who tried to tell me Lakewood has the best pizza in Cleveland

Was at the West Side Market last Saturday grabbing some pierogi when this older dude next to me starts going on about how his favorite spot near the Detroit light rail has the best slice in town. I asked him if he ever had the pepperoni from that place on Madison near the old hardware store, and he just laughed and walked away without answering. Why do people in this city act like their favorite pizza joint is some kind of state secret?
