That old tool sharpener at the West Side Market...
I used to walk right past the guy who sharpens knives at the West Side Market. Figured it was a gimmick, you know? But last fall I let him do my grandpa's old chef's knife for $8. That thing cuts through a tomato like butter now. Has anyone else used his service or is there a better spot on the west side for sharpening?

Ed's is legit but that old guy has been there forever so maybe it was an off day.

Gotta disagree with you on this one lol. I took a couple knives to that guy last year and the edge just didn't hold up after a week of regular home use. There's a spot over on Detroit Ave near the West Side Market called Ed's Sharpening that does way better work for like two bucks more.
