That $600 concrete driveway seal I got last fall was a total waste

I paid a crew from over near Lakewood to seal my driveway back in October. The guy guaranteed it would hold up through winter salt and plows. Well after just one real freeze and a couple scrapes from the city plow, it's already flaking off in chunks. I should have just saved the money and let the concrete be. Has anyone else around here had bad luck with those sealant companies that come door to door?

dude that sucks, i feel your pain. my neighbor fell for one of those door to door guys two years ago and same thing happened, the sealant turned white and started peeling like a bad sunburn after the first snow. they promised it was this heavy duty commercial grade stuff but it just couldn't handle the real world abuse. i ended up doing my own with a can from home depot and honestly it looked better for like half the cost. sorry you got burned by those guys, they're so pushy and their guarantee means nothing when they're already gone to the next town.

oh man tell me about it, those door to door guys are the worst. i had a crew come by last spring selling "premium grade" driveway sealer and they quoted me like $800. i laughed and said no thanks, went to lowes and grabbed a 5 gallon bucket for $40. took me a saturday afternoon and it still looks great after two winters. next time just hit up a hardware store and do it yourself. saves you the headache and the cash.
