Spent $200 on a snowblower last January and finally understand why my neighbor swears by his
I always thought snowblowers were a waste for our little driveway on the west side. Figured a good shovel and some elbow grease was fine. Then that lake effect storm hit back in January and I was out there for two hours, back killing me. Bought a used Toro off Facebook Marketplace for $200. First use was the next storm. Took me 15 minutes. I was mad at myself for all those years of shoveling. Has anyone else caved and bought one after swearing you never would?

Hard disagree. A $200 snowblower sounds like a bargain until you factor in the gas, oil, maintenance, and the headache of storing that thing half the year. Shoveling is good for you - builds character and keeps you from turning into a soft city person who cant handle a little weather. Plus you probably spent more time fighting with that Toro to start it than you saved clearing the driveway. My neighbor has one that sits in his garage six months out of the year and he still bitches about having to winterize it. Shovel works every single time no matter what. For a little driveway on the west side you probably could have just waited an hour for the sun to melt it anyways.
