Someone painted over the fancy tile map at the West Blvd rapid station and it looks awful now
Rode the Red Line home from Tower City last Tuesday and noticed the tile map on the westbound platform is covered in this flat gray paint. You can still see the bumpy shape of the old neighborhoods under it. Been using that stop for 11 years and that map was the one thing that made the station feel like somebody cared. Anyone know who signed off on this, or is it just me being grumpy?
Isnt this just what happens everywhere now? Every cool old thing in this city gets swapped for some plain gray nothing because its cheaper to cover up than fix. That tile map was actual art, they couldnt just leave it alone.
