Saw a guy on W 25th teaching his kid to parallel park with tennis balls, weirdly inspiring
Was walking past the strip near the West Side Market on Saturday morning and saw a dad with his teenager in an old Civic trying to squeeze into a spot barely big enough for a golf cart. He had two tennis balls hanging from strings off the rear bumper so the kid could judge distance, which I hadn't seen since driver's ed back in high school. The kid must have tried six times before nailing it and the dad just gave a thumbs up from the curb like it was no big deal. Got me thinking about how hard it is to learn to park around here when half the spots on Lorain are the size of a shoebox. Anyone else got a trick that actually worked for teaching a new driver on the west side?
