That 1990s masonry manual I found had a stat that blew my mind

I was cleaning out a client's basement last Tuesday and they offered me an old copy of the National Chimney Sweep Guide from 1992. Flipped through it during lunch and it said the average chimney sweep back then did 14 full liner replacements a year. I do maybe 4. That means most of us in the 90s were dealing with junk clay tile and no liners at all. My uncle ran a rig in Pittsburgh back then and he never once mentioned that. Are older crews just not talking about how different the failures were? Has anyone else seen numbers like that in their shop archives?
