Switched to rotary brushes after 12 years of using standard rods

Always figured the old school wire rods were fine until I helped a guy in Nashville clean a massive creosote log jam. He let me try his rotary setup and I got through in 10 minutes what would've taken me an hour. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a big difference on heavy buildup?

Heard a guy at a trade show say rotaries chew through creosote like a hungry dog through kibble. Big difference on the heavy stuff for sure.

My buddy down in Atlanta swore by rotaries for years and I kept saying nah my rods are fine. Then we got a call on a 6 inch flue that had about 4 years of buildup and I spent almost two hours with a standard chain knocker and barely made a dent. He let me borrow his rotary setup the next day and I cleared all that rock hard creosote in maybe 15 minutes tops. Felt like a fool for being stubborn about it for so long.
