Showerthought: I tried cleaning a flue with just a wire brush for a stubborn creosote patch in an old Seattle house.
The brush just polished it, but a quick hit with a rotary whip after made it crumble away in seconds. Anyone have a better trick for that glassy, baked-on stuff?

What kind of rotary whip did you use? That glassy stuff is the worst, and a regular brush just skates over it. Sounds like you need the right tool to actually break it up.

Honestly, sometimes you just need more elbow grease with a stiff brush. New tools can be overkill for that kind of buildup.

Yeah, exactly. I had that same waxy gunk on an old blender base last month. I ended up using a paste of baking soda and dish soap with one of those green scrubby pads, and it came right off after some serious scrubbing.
