Read that a single chimney fire can hit 2000 degrees in under a minute

Found that stat in an old firefighter training manual at the library. Makes me rethink how I explain the danger to homeowners. Do you guys use specific numbers like that to get the point across?

Saw a video once where a firefighter said the heat can warp a metal grate in seconds. Those numbers really drive it home, way more than just saying it gets hot. It makes the risk feel real and not just a thing that happens to other people. I'd use that stat if I was trying to get a friend to clean their flue.

No joke, that stat is gold, my buddy showed me his chimney after a fire and it looked like melted candle wax inside.
