Dropped $130 on a fancy rotary brush system for my sweep kit
Thought it would save me time on those heavy creosote chimneys I see around here. First job went fine, second job the motor started smoking halfway through. Called the company and they said I probably ran it too long without letting it cool down. But their manual never mentioned any duty cycle limit. So now I'm back to using my old manual rods and it takes me twice as long. Maybe I should have just stuck with what works. Has anyone else had a power sweeper crap out on them like that?

I mean, that's rough, man. Dropping that kind of cash just to have it konk out on the second job feels like a real kick in the teeth, especially when the manual didn't warn you. It's always the stuff that promises to save you time that ends up costing you more in the end, huh? At least your old rods are still hanging in there, but I get why you'd be frustrated.
