Best day versus worst day last winter - one job had me smiling, the other had me ready to quit

I had two jobs back in December that were polar opposites. One was a routine clean on a gas fireplace insert in a new build, everything went smooth, took 45 minutes, and the homeowner tipped me $50. Then the next week I got a call for a wood stove that hadn't been touched in 8 years, creosote buildup was so bad I could barely get my rod through, and I ended up finding a bird nest blocking the flue. That one took 3 hours and I was covered in soot by the end. Has anyone else had a week where the jobs were that different from each other?

The bird nest thing is funny because I've noticed every single time I find one it's always in the worst possible spot to get to. Like the birds know exactly where to build to make your life terrible.
