My neighbor swears a $12 rice cooker beats a pot on the stove, I say she is burning money
She picked up a basic 6-cup cooker at the Goodwill on 5th for $12 and claims her grocery bill dropped because she stopped tossing scorched rice. I still think a plain pot and lid do the same job for nothing, and I have been cooking rice on the stove since 2009 without much trouble. The thing that makes me pause is she says she eats rice 5 nights a week now instead of twice. So who is actually saving money here, the pot people or the cooker people?
