Why does nobody talk about rinsing canned beans before using them?
I grabbed a can of chickpeas at Aldi for 89 cents last week and almost dumped the whole thing straight into my curry. A buddy who cooks at a diner in Cleveland told me to rinse them first because that gooey liquid (aquafaba) makes everything taste like the can. Two minutes under cold water cut the salt and funk way down, and my $3 dinner actually tasted like something I'd pay $12 for. Anyone else got a cheap canned good trick they swear by?
