That time I worked out bulk rice saves way more than I thought
Last month I actually sat down and crunched the numbers on buying a 25-pound bag of jasmine rice from the Asian market compared to the little 2-pound boxes at the regular grocery store. The big bag came out to about 50 cents a pound versus $1.50 for the small boxes. I found the stat on a budget food blog that compared store brands vs bulk sizes. Has anyone else done the math on their pantry staples and been surprised?
