My rice cooker quit mid batch and I finished the rice in a hotel room coffee pot
The cooker died on a Sunday about 20 minutes in, so I dumped the half cooked rice into the little 4 cup pot and let it steam on the desk for a while. It came out a bit sticky but totally fine with a fried egg and some soy sauce, which cost me maybe 80 cents total. Anyone else keep a backup plan for when one cheap appliance kicks it?

Ha, a coffee pot as a rice cooker is peak low budget cooking. My own meal plan is mostly just seeing what the microwave can be tricked into.
