My gas station egg trick that cuts breakfast costs in half

Stopped at a Shell station in Dayton last month and noticed they sell 2 hard boiled eggs for $1.49. Now I grab those plus a dollar pack of instant oatmeal instead of hitting the drive thru. That's like $2.50 total versus the $7.00 breakfast sandwich I used to get. Anyone else found good cheap eats at weird places besides grocery stores?

...and honestly that oatmeal trick works better than it should. I do the same thing at truck stops, grab a couple of hard boiled eggs from the cooler plus a banana if they got them. Another weird one is gas stations with those hot dog roller things, you can grab just a bun and some mustard packets for like fifty cents and make it a snack. The key is hitting the ones that have a real deli counter in the back, those usually sell single servings of stuff way cheaper than the chain places. Also check if your local station does day old pastries, mine marks them down to a quarter at noon and that covers lunch easy.
