My buddy called me out for buying pre-shredded cheese

Last Saturday my friend Mike watched me toss a bag of shredded cheddar into my cart. He laughed and said I was paying $2 extra for sawdust. He was right. I bought a block of cheddar for $3.50 at Aldi and shredded it myself in 2 minutes. Tastes way better and melts right. Anybody else get roasted for lazy food shortcuts?

Honestly, Mike did you a favor. I switched to block cheese last year and it's way cheaper and tastes fresher.

Pre-shredded cheese is for people who hate money and love bagged sawdust, so yeah, you're winning. Block cheese just feels like you're one step away from being a fancy chef in your own kitchen, even if you're just making nachos. I finally caved and bought a grater last month, and my shredded cheese still smells like actual cheese instead of plastic. Definitely a move.
