My aunt's tip to freeze leftover tomato paste in ice cube trays saved me $12 a month
Honestly, I used to toss half a can every recipe because it always went moldy in 3 days. She told me to scoop it into a tray, freeze it, and pop out a cube whenever I need it. Anyone else do this with other leftover ingredients like coconut milk or broth?

Realize that most kitchen waste is just us not planning for the next meal. Freezing is the hack for anything that comes in a big container when you only need a little. Coconut milk freezes great too, just measure it into cubes before it separates. Broth works if you let it cool and skim the fat first. The bigger pattern is that we all buy stuff for one recipe and then forget it exists until it's gross, so freezing forces us to treat food like it actually has a future.
