Hot take: dried beans are way better than canned after trying both for chili
I made two batches of chili last Sunday, one with canned black beans and one with dried I soaked overnight, and the dried ones cost about 60 cents less per pound while the texture was firmer and not mushy. The dried beans also absorbed the spices way better so the whole pot tasted richer without adding extra seasonings. Anybody else notice a big difference switching to dried beans for cheap meals?

Heard a chef say dried beans soak up flavor better since they're not sitting in liquid already.
