Talking to my dad's old banker changed my refi thinking
Had coffee with a guy in Cleveland who's been doing mortgages since the 80s. He said people used to refi to actually fix their lives, not just chase a lower rate. Showed me a file from 87 where someone pulled out 12k to start a plumbing business and paid it off in 5 years. Made me wonder if we overcomplicate all this now with apps and endless calculators. Has anyone else had a chat that made them question their whole approach?
