My buddy told me to refi for home improvements and I ignored him for 6 months

My friend Mark kept saying lock in a lower rate and pull cash out for the kitchen reno back in March. I waited until July, rates went up half a point, and now my payment is $80 more than if I had just listened. Anyone else kick themselves for not pulling the trigger sooner?

Kicked myself right in the savings account with that one, man. I did the same thing waiting on a car loan and ended up paying an extra $50 a month for a whole year, so I feel your pain.

Yeah, it stings SO bad when you realize you could've saved that money if you'd just waited a bit longer. I did the same thing with a motorcycle loan, and it cost me an extra $60 a month for 8 months. @vera_lewis, at least we're not alone in this dumb tax, right? It's like a lesson you gotta pay to learn.

This dumb tax stuff is just life teaching you the same lesson over and over. I noticed it with everything - waiting to buy concert tickets, waiting to replace a water heater before it floods, waiting to get a dentist appointment until the tooth really hurts. We all think we're being smart by holding off, but really we're just paying more later.
