Compared a local credit union and Rocket Mortgage on a cash out refi and it wasn't even close

The credit union quoted me 6.2% with no points and $800 in fees, while Rocket came back at 7.8% with $4,500 in junk costs. Has anyone else seen that big a gap between a small lender and a big online place?

Yeah but Rocket probably actually closes on time.

Ugh yes thank you! I went to Rocket last Thursday night and the sign said open til 10 but at 9:15 they were already cleaning up and told me the kitchen was closed. I was just there for a quick drink and a snack. Two weeks before that I showed up at 8:45 on a Saturday and they had a line out the door and the hostess said they were cutting off seating because they were short staffed. Its honestly super frustrating because I live nearby and wanna make it my regular spot but I never know if theyre actually gonna be open when they say they are. So much for reliable.

Oh come on, Rocket has been closing late for like the last three weekends in a row. I was there last Friday and they turned people away at 9:45 even though they said they were staying open until 11. So much for closing on time.
