Vent: Homeowners keep using the wrong seam tape and blaming us for it
Third time this month I got called back to a job in Phoenix where a seam split after 6 months. Stuck my head under the carpet and found the tape they bought at the big box store, the cheap grey kind with no mesh. We all know that stuff is for padding repairs, not joins. I finally started snapping a photo of the tape roll on every install and texting it to the homeowner. Has anyone else had to prove it wasn't your work when the seam fails?

Three callbacks in one month over the same cheap tape, I'd be snapping photos too, that stuff is garbage for seams.
