Two staples per tack strip foot is not enough on concrete, and I learned that the hard way in Tulsa
I keep seeing installers shoot staples 6 inches apart on tack strips over concrete slab, and that will pop loose the first dry winter. I pulled up a 2 year old job in Tulsa last week where the strips lifted along a 12 foot wall because the staples only went in about a quarter inch. You need a nail or pin every 4 inches and make sure you hit the concrete, not just the pad or a thin patch of leveler. What are you all using to check that the pins actually bit, or am I the only one tapping them with a hammer before the pad goes down?
