Spent 6 hours fighting a single seam that should have taken 20 minutes

Last Tuesday I had this job in an old house in Portland. The carpet was already cut and laid but there was this one seam near a doorway that just wouldn't lay flat. I kept adjusting it, re-stretching it, checking the tape. Turned out the previous guy had used the wrong power stretcher and left a wrinkle under the padding. Six hours man. Six hours for one stupid seam. Has anyone else run into a hidden wrinkle that took forever to track down?

Bet that buried crease turned into a full floor redo for him.

Buddy of mine ran into the same thing last month on a job downtown. Found a buried crease under old padding that took him four hours of re-stretching to fix. He said it was the most frustrating day he's had in years.
