Rant: hot glue on stair nosings is a hack, staples and a cap strip hold better
Did a stair runner in a Cincinnati rental 3 weeks ago and the old installer had glued every nosing down, it peeled up in 6 days with one renter and a dog. Staple through the nose every 2 inches and finish with a cap strip, has anyone else had glue fail this fast?

How long did that glue even last, a whole 6 days with a dog in the house? That dog probably looked at the stairs and the nosing just gave up out of fear. Honestly @martin.angela might be onto something with the staple angle though, cause I had a batch once where they were going in sideways and the nose popped loose in like a week. Glue on a nosing is just asking for trouble when there is any traffic at all. Staples every 2 inches plus a cap strip is the only way I trust it to stay put.
