Noticed a massive difference in seam visibility after switching to a seaming iron with temp control

Saw the seams on a job from 3 years ago that I did with a basic iron, looked like cracks in a sidewalk. Just finished a room with a digital temp control seaming iron and the seams are basically invisible after stretching - anyone else see this kind of change with better gear?

My buddy runs a crew and was still using that old $40 iron from Home Depot. He borrowed my digital temp control one for a master bedroom last month and called me freaking out about how flat the seams laid down. Said his old one left these wavy lines you could feel with your finger. He went out and bought one that same week after seeing how clean the seams looked in direct sunlight.
