Just hit 500 yards of carpet installed without a single seam fail
I've been at this for about 6 years now and never really kept track before. But I started a notebook a few months back after I had a seam pop on me on a job in Alpharetta. Today I finished a living room and checked my numbers. 500 yards clean. No callbacks, no fixes. Feels good but I'm probably jinxing myself now lol. How do you guys track your work?

Man that's solid work right there. 500 yards clean is nothing to shrug at in this trade. I've had my own little system for years after I got burned on a seam in a sunroom that taught me the hard way. What I do is mark the roll numbers and the date on every piece I lay, just on the back side with a sharpie where the customer will never see it. That way if something does go wrong later I can track it back to the exact batch and job. Also helps me see which glue or seaming iron settings I used if I ever have to touch up.

That's genius, I've been burned the same way and now I do the exact same thing with a sharpie and date stamps.
