Hit 3,000 yards installed today, didnt see that number coming

I was tallying up my jobs for the tax guy and realized I've laid just over 3,000 square yards of carpet since I went solo back in 2019. That number hit me harder than I expected, mostly because I remember my first year barely scraping by 400 in my truck with a beat up power stretcher. It's not just the volume either, it's the mix, everything from basic builders grade in new tract homes to some serious patterned stuff in a downtown Sacramento condo. I still mess up seams occasionally and my knees remind me I'm not 25 anymore, but seeing that total on paper made me feel like I actually belong in this trade. Has anyone else kept a running count of their yardage over the years, and did it change how you look at your work?

Damn, 3,000 square yards. That's wild to see written out. Most folks don't get how much physical work that is. Carpet's heavy, and every single yard means crawling around on your knees, pulling and stretching. The fact you went from 400 to that in a few years says a lot. I bet there were days you wanted to quit and just didn't. That mix of tract homes and high-end condos too, that's a whole different skill set. Seams in patterned carpet are a nightmare, so if you're only messing up occasionally, you're doing better than most. That number on paper is proof you earned your spot in this trade, no question.
