Found a trick for fixing those stubborn seams that keep popping

I had a job last month where the seam tape kept lifting in a high traffic hallway. Instead of redoing the whole thing, I tried using a heat gun on low for 30 seconds before pressing it down with a roller, and it actually held solid. Anyone else use heat to reset problem seams?

Oh man, I had a buddy try that same thing in his laundry room. The heat trick saved his seam that kept curling up, @tarajenkins.

Isn't it funny how heat fixes everything from seams to life's problems, @tarajenkins?

Did you try heating the subfloor or just the tape itself? I've found warming the concrete a bit first helps the adhesive grab better in those high-traffic spots.
