Unpopular take on table saws: I choose a track saw over a cabinet saw any day
Honestly I had a chance to buy a used cabinet saw for $400 from a guy in Portland last fall. But I stuck with my track saw instead. Been running it for 8 months now ripping down sheet goods and even some hardwood for cabinets. It's way easier to haul between jobsites and I get cleaner cuts on big panels without needing a helper. Anyone else prefer working this way or am I just stubborn?

Track saws are totally underrated for job site work. I used to haul a cabinet saw everywhere and it was a pain in the rear. Once I switched to a track saw for sheet goods I never looked back. Makes solo work so much easier and the cuts are dead straight. You made the right call sticking with your track saw.

$400 for a cabinet saw? That's insane. I can't even find a decent used jobsite saw for that price in my area. @umam95 is right though, track saws are the real deal for solo work. My back thanks me every time I load up the truck instead of wrestling a 400 pound saw. No way I'd trade that portability for anything.

My buddy Dave tried to sell his old Delta cabinet saw for $350 last year. He had it listed for three months and got ZERO serious offers. Some guy offered him $100 if he'd deliver it and help carry it up stairs. Dave ended up just keeping it in his garage taking up space. Meanwhile he picked up a used track saw for $200 at a pawn shop and uses it for everything now. The cabinet saw just sits there collecting dust while he's out knocking down sheet goods in half the time.
