That $250 router table fence I bought was a complete waste of money

Picked up the Bench Dog ProMax fence system about 6 months ago thinking it would level up my dado work. Thing flexed like crazy on anything over 3/4 inch stock and I could never get it square. Lost $250 on it plus 2 weekends of frustration trying to shim it straight. Anyone else get burned by a fancy fence that just wobbles?

That Bench Dog ProMax fence... I actually used to swear by those things. A few years back I helped a buddy install one on his cabinet saw and it felt solid as a rock. Made me think I was being cheap with my old Delta T2 fence. Then last spring I finally caved and bought one for my own setup. Same exact problem you had. I ran a 4 inch wide piece of oak through a rabbet and the fence shifted almost an 1/8th inch. Spent a whole Saturday messing with the lock down mechanism and it still had play in it. Kinda changed my whole opinion on high end router fences honestly.

Totally feel you @williams90, seems like every "upgrade" I buy just exposes a new weak link somewhere else lol.
