Still think about a contractor I worked with in Denver 5 years ago
I was framing a basement remodel with a guy named Frank who was about 65 years old. He told me to stop using the nail gun and pick up a hammer for the studs near the plumbing. He said power tools make you fast but hand tools make you careful. I argued with him at first but he was right, I would have hit a pipe. Do you think there is still a place for doing things the old way in modern carpentry or is it all about speed now?

Sounds like Frank saved your bacon with that old school advice!

My buddy Dave ran into something similar with his uncle a few years back. He was about to drop a couple grand on a fancy new router setup cause his wifi kept dropping. His uncle just told him to try changing the channel to something less crowded and check if any neighbors were using the same one. Turned out a kid two doors down had fired up a cheap wireless camera that was blasting over the same frequency. Switched channels and it worked fine for like three years. Cost him nothing but the time to log into the router settings.
