Hot take: pocket hole joints are fine for most jobs

I see so many guys online insisting that mortise and tenon is the only way to build furniture, but I've used pocket holes on a dozen tables and desks over the last 5 years and none have come loose. Has anyone else had good luck with them on non-load-bearing pieces?

You do you, man. People act like a pocket hole is gonna make a table collapse the second you put a coffee mug on it.

Funny enough, my cousin built a whole deck with nothing but pocket holes and it's still standing after five years of heavy snow and barbecues. He didn't even use glue on most of the joints, just screws and a prayer. Maybe it's not the fanciest way to build stuff, but it sure beats trying to explain to your wife why the project still isn't done.
