Client told me my miters looked 'good enough' and that stung

Ngl that feedback made me realize I was rushing the coping step on inside corners to save 10 minutes per room. Do you guys cope everything or just rely on 45s and caulk for painted trim?

Oh man, that "good enough" comment is brutal. I had a buddy who does cabinets and he told me a story about a kitchen he did for a client who said his cope joints were "fine" and he knew right then he was phoning it in. He started taking longer on the coping after that and said it actually made his miters tighter too because he wasn't rushing the setup. Funny how one little comment can make you look in the mirror, right? I don't think there's a shortcut for coping inside corners if you want it to look right, especially on stained wood where caulk is obvious. The 45s and caulk thing works for painted trim but even then the fit is never as good as a proper cope.

Good enough" comments made me slow down on coping too and now I take the extra time for every inside corner.
