Caulk gun failure on a bathroom trim job in Austin

I used a cheap caulk gun on a shower surround last Tuesday and the rod slipped mid bead. It shot a glob of silicone across the tile and left a ragged line I had to scrape off. The tube also kept dripping after I set it down. I learned that the trigger tension lock matters more than the price tag on the gun. Has anyone else had a caulk gun jam right when you are finishing a corner?

Ugh, that dripping after you set it down is the worst part, it always finds the one spot you already cleaned. I've been there with a jammed trigger right at the end of a run, makes you want to just toss the whole thing in the trash.
