A client's simple fix for a wobbly table saved me a call back
I was finishing a custom dining table for a couple in Eugene. The wife was worried because it rocked a bit on their uneven floor. I was ready to pack up my tools to adjust the legs, but her husband just grabbed a thin piece of cork from a craft box. He cut four small squares and stuck one under the short leg. The wobble was gone in two minutes. He said his grandpa taught him that trick, always keep some cork around. It was such a fast, smart fix that I felt a bit silly for not thinking of it first. Now I keep a roll of cork liner in my truck. What's your go-to quick fix for uneven furniture?

My uncle's old coffee table was a four-legged tripod for about a decade. We just kept a folded matchbook under the short leg and called it a design feature.
