I was dead set on a coding bootcamp in Austin until my cousin let me shadow her for two days
I put down a $500 deposit on a 12 week bootcamp, then watched my cousin do her actual dev job for two days and realized I hated staring at code all day. I pulled out and used that money for a CompTIA cert class at the local community college instead, and I passed the exam on my first try. Anyone else switch paths after seeing the day to day reality of a job?
Same thing happens with people who dream about opening a restaurant until they work a Saturday night in one. Watching the real day to day is way better than guessing.
