Vent: everyone says to job hop every 2 years, but I hit 7 years at one company and my pay doubled anyway
I kept reading that you lose money staying put, so I tracked it. My pay went from $48k to $96k at the same place in Milwaukee, just by asking after each big project shipped. Now I'm wondering if the hop-every-2-years advice is just loud because it's easy to repeat, anyone else stay somewhere long and come out ahead?

Staying put worked for me too, asked after every big win and got raises without switching.
