The old timer who taught me shift change at Station 3 back in 2010 said 'slow is smooth, smooth is fast' and I still hear that every time I gear up.

He was checking my straps before a call and just said it plain, no lecture, and it stuck with me more than any training manual did.

Yeah, I still can't figure out if that means I'm slow or just really bad at being smooth.

Honestly, same. I think my brain just buffers for a solid 10 seconds before I remember how people actually talk. Ngl, it's a vibe.
