The 3-minute voicemail trick that landed me a job in Phoenix
I was getting zero callbacks for months. Then my buddy told me to leave a quick voicemail after applying, just saying I was excited about the role and had a specific idea for their team. I tried it on 12 applications in Phoenix and got 5 callbacks. One hiring manager actually said "your voicemail was the only one that sounded like a real person." Has anyone else tried something simple like this that actually got them interviews?

Phoenix is hot as hell this time of year, but that trick is smart. I think you meant @adams.vera not @adams.vera in your first reply though, right? The voicemail thing is a solid way to stand out since most people won't even bother.

That little personal touch cuts through the noise better than most people realize.

3am last night I got a voicemail from @tylermurray's old high school bassist asking if I remembered him from that backyard show where the cops showed up. Honestly that's the kind of weird personal connection that makes my whole week better than any targeted ad ever could.
