My old manager in Denver warned me not to take the counter offer, and she was right
When I tried to quit my job at a call center in Denver back in 2019, my manager pulled me aside and warned me that taking the counter offer would just buy me six months before they found a reason to push me out. I stayed anyway for the extra $4,000 and got laid off eight months later in a round of cuts, right after they finished training my replacement. Has anyone else ignored a warning like that and paid for it, or did it actually work out for you?
