My old boss showed me the power of handwritten notes back in 2007
I worked at a small insurance agency in Omaha for about 8 years, and my boss was this older guy named Jerry. He would hand write thank you notes to every single client after we closed a policy, even the small ones. I thought it was a waste of time at first, but he showed me his files one day and half of those clients kept coming back for decades just because of that personal touch. Meanwhile, I see people now sending generic email blasts and wondering why nobody responds. Have any of you tried something old school like that and seen it actually work better than the digital stuff?

Eh, I gotta disagree a little here. Handwritten notes are fine for like grandma's birthday but in 2024 people barely check their mailboxes. I've seen way better results from a quick personalized video message or a direct text. My buddy runs a roofing company and he sends a 10 second Loom video to every quote and his close rate is insane. Old school is nice but it's just too slow for most folks now.

You're spot on about people barely checking mailboxes anymore. I’ve had the same experience with my own crew - a quick text or short video message gets a response way faster than a mailed note ever does. It’s not that the old ways are bad, they’re just too slow for how fast people want things now.
