Just found out my industry's certification exam has a 47% pass rate
I was looking into getting a new cert for my HVAC work and stumbled on the NATE test data from last year... barely half the people pass it on the first try. That honestly explains so much about why some techs I've worked with just don't know their stuff. Has anyone else here taken a cert test that felt way tougher than you expected?

I saw a study once that said test anxiety hits HVAC techs way harder than other trades because of all the hands-on versus book learning split. 47% is brutal though, I'd probably be nervous too knowing those odds.

Nah here's the thing nobody's talking about - those pass rates might actually be low because the test is testing on equipment that's already obsolete by the time you take it.
