Just changed my approach to cold emailing after a total disaster

I was sending 50 generic emails a day from my apartment in Austin and getting zero replies, then I personalized one with a specific project they posted on LinkedIn and got a meeting in 3 hours. Anyone else had better luck with super specific outreach over volume?

Whoa, yeah I read this article recently about how personalization is way more important than just firing off tons of emails. The guy said most people treat cold emails like spam but if you show you actually looked at their work it changes everything. Your story backs that up totally, getting a meeting in 3 hours is crazy good compared to zero replies from the volume approach. I've seen a few sales folks say the same thing, less is more when you actually take the time to know who you're writing to.

Less is more" is totally right, it forces you to actually think about what you write.

Oh man, yeah that reminds me of this thing my buddy tried with his small landscaping business. He used to send out these generic flyers to like every house in a neighborhood and got nothing back. Then one time he handwritten a note to this one guy who had a really specific garden setup he saw on Google Maps, mentioned a particular type of rose bush he noticed, and the guy actually called him the same day. It's weird how that works, like people can just tell when you actually paid attention instead of just blasting stuff into the void.
